Four students arrested for stealing love birds and pets

From a shop in Weligama  marketing pets four students had broke open it in the night and taken away pets worth rupees twenty one thousand five hundred have been arrested on suspicion by the Weligama police..

On the 13th instant between the hours of 6.00pm and on the 14th instant 8.30 am this theft of pets had

been made from a pet shop in the town.

The pets that have stolen have been  four rabbits. 'vatu' birds, love birds. parrots which had been complained by the shop owner to the police.

The students suspected are students in grade 11 in the same area.Under the  instructions of the acting headquarters inspector Police inspector HM Jayatilleke the arrests had  been made.

The suspects were to be produced before the Matara courts.
