The  body of former Army intelligence officer,Sergeant Major who had committed suicide by strangulation leaving a note that he was responsible for the killing of the Editor of the Sunday Leader newspaper Lasantha Wickrematunga was buried on the 16th instant. at the

Puwakdeniya, Kegalle general cemetery.

After a period of just three days the Magistrate of Mt Lavinia Magistrate's courts Mohamed Sahabdeen had ordered the body to be exhumed on the 19th instant.

The former sergeant Major of the army Intelligence unit  IR Jayamanne had hung himself with the aid of a nylon thread leaving a note saying that he was responsible for the killing of Lasantha Wickrematunga.
