Signs of Thilanga losing the head chair at SLC

It is reported that with the amendments to the Da Bill  the  President of the Sri Lanka Cricket Thilanga Sumathipala would have to sacrifice his chair.The main reason is as he is a Member of Parliament in the Sri Lanka government.The Bill after the amendments have

cited some other reasons as well.

The legal amended draft  has been sent to the ministry of sports on the 04th instant.According to the new regulations there are a number of clauses that prevent  the appointing of personnel to sports associations. In this context a number of high positions in the Sri Lanka Cricket will have to be forfeited The President of the SLC Thilanga Sumathipala and the Treasurer Shammi Silva will have forego their positions at SLC.

Some of the new regulations are as follows:

• Those over 70 could not hold position in sports bodies.
• The audit reports have to be submitted on time. Those Presidents ,Secretaries,Treasurers would be dispelled .Their posts cannot be given to their children.
• The owners of electronic and print media cannot hold positions in sports bodies.
• A shareholder  of a sports body cannot hold positions
• Co owners also are prohibited.
• A person who owns a betting company is prohibited.
• If a relative is a member of a national team such persons also cannot hols positions
• Need to be a Sri Lankan national
•  The office bearers cannot be  agents or managers  of players
