Singer Chilli (Thilanka Vidusha) has been taken into custody on suspicion of an incident in connection with assaulting a person and has been remanded until the 25th of this month.

Singer and actor Chilli Thilanka has been taken into custody this morning by Talangama Police. The
reason for it is that he had assaulted a villager. A few days back on the occasion when Chilli had been travelling in a vehicle at a time when there was a traffic congestion down a by-lane in Vijithapura area, Pelawatta, Battaramulla his vehicle was subjected to a block of traffic and Chilli had asked a person nearby to give him some room to proceed forward and as the space provided by the person concerned was not sufficient enough ultimately led into an argument ending up in a conflict. 

This is what the 57 year old victim who took the beating spoke out from Talangama Hospital: " when the horn was tooted I asked, "there's no room no. isn't it? No sooner I said so, a tall person got down from his vehicle and after approaching me began to kick me continuously. After the first and second shots I can't remember further. Later people at the bana ceremony came and rescued me. The man then beat a retreat. I got to know that he was an actor by the name of Chilli. I had two stitches done towards the middle of my lip and my jaw too was injured. Even my spine was wounded". 

Chilli Thilanka who was missing for about 2 days after the incident had come to Talangama Police this morning and had made a statement after which he was taken into custody. He is expected to be produced before courts today, A video report on the incident, from below
