Transport Minister should resign for Wellawa deaths

Struck work as demands were not met.Transport Minister should resign-Railway gate operators

The other day a mother and two daughters had

unfortunately died  in a tragic manner as the railway gate operators were on strike at the Kurunegala Wellawa rail gate crossing.

To these tragic deaths the government should take the entire blame for not heeding to their requests was added by the Sri Lanka unprotected railway gates members unity.

The convenor of this unity Asoka Bandara had said that if the demand of rupees five thousand was agreed upon these deaths would not have occurred. Hence the Minister of Transport and the related authorities who were not in favour of this demand should tender their resignations was what the convenor had said.

However owing to a written promise the strike has now been called off..
