Rajitha takes steps to regularise massage service by employing graduates
Minister of Health Rajitha Senaratna who pointed out that Ayurveda Massage Centres operating in Sri Lanka at present are not providing a methodological system and he had stated in parliament that a regularised procedure is being adopted in that respect. He spoke about this on a question raised by MP Buddhika
Pathirana.
The Minister who mentioned that a law would be enforced that there should be an Ayurvedic physician with qualifications in all tourist hotels which has Ayurvedic facilities and according to the number of beds in such hotels the number of physicians would be increased and added that by enforcing such a law an opportunity for new employment would be forthcoming as well. He also mentioned that since over a thousand who have completed the Ayurveda Degree are jobless and that it has been revealed that the number of those who have not secured registration in the Medical Council total to a number of 649. Therefore, directing them towards this form of employment would prove significant he said.
