For Tele actress Menaka height is not a concern for Miss Latina International beauty contest

The Tele actress Menaka Maduwanthi has been elected to represent Sri Lanka for the Miss Latina International beauty contest in the United States of America.

On this visit she was interviewed by a weekend newspaper. Excerpts from this interview are

appended below:

Q: Menaka what is this talk about your participation at this International beauty pageant?

A: Going to International was really a dream for me. Initially I did go international in dancing and won an award.This time I have been selected as a model for a international beauty contest.

Q what is the name of this contest?

A: Miss Latina International

Q: Where is this held?

A: In United States, Bahama State.

Q: How many countries are contesting?

A: Participants from about 20 countries are participating.

Q: How did you obtain this opportunity?

A: Via the Face Book page. It was from it the publicity activities were made. Also I had known the organizers of this contest for about three years. I was invited by them for quite some time.

Q: Was height become a barrier? Is it  a concern.?

A: The chairman of the organizing committee had told that height would not be an issue and not to make but to enter the contest.

Q: When do you hope to leave Sri Lanka?

A: The contest is in October 21st and I hope to leave to be in the States in time for it.

Q: What preparations have you have to get ready with?

A: The main issue is about my physique as I have put on some weight recently. These days I exercise in order to slim down.

Q: To go to International what have you done in Sri Lanka?

A: To achieve something in Sri Lanka or not is a question. When trying to do something in the country  try to think of achieving more from overseas.

Q: Do you attempt this as do you think you popularity here is not sufficient?

A: Victories and loses have been there equally. However to attract the media attention in this way, I do not know. This is only my wish and a liking.
