The first of the five One Day internationals between the touring Australians and hosts Sri Lanka was concluded at the R Premadasa International cricket stadium in Colombo under lights in front of sell out crowd.Australia romped home victorious by a margin of 03 wickets with

19 balls to spare.

Steve Smith having won the toss had opted to field first. Sri Lanka could amass only 227 runs for the loss of 08 wickets in the allotted 50 overs.Kusal Mendis scored 67 while Dinesh Chandimal was unbeaten on 80. Australia in reply scored 228 for the loss of 07 wickets with 19 balls to spare.
