Ravana Balaya instigated by Wimal Weerawansa because of vehicles disclosed

During the era of the past regime there had been a number of instances when the authorities of the Ravana Balaya organization had acted in crashing into various government institutions. The officers of the president’s investigation commission had revealed that all these have had links with the leader

of the National Freedom Front and former minister Wimal Weerawansa.

The officers of the presidential investigation commission had revealed the former minister of housing, construction engineering services and public amenities had assigned and enrolled the Convenor of the Ravana Balaya organization Ven Iththepana Saddhtissa thera as member of his staff of the minister and had lent him seven vehicles to him for travel from the fleet of vehicles of the ministry. These vehicles had been given to the Convenor to attend to a number of his political activities.

To commence investigations the Convener of the organization has been summoned to be questioned by the president’s investigation committee on the 13th instant. It has also brought to light that these vehicles had been bought on a monthly rental basis from a lady in Rajagiriya who is renting out vehicles. It had also revealed that the vehicles taken on rent basis from outsiders cannot be given to be used third parties.

It is also reported that the Ravana Balaya Organization during the past regime had been acting as an organization that was protecting Buddhism and our culture. They also had acted in a manner to antagonise other ethnic parties with a view to bring about racial conflicts. All these too had been with the willing courtesy of the former minister Wimal Weerawansa, it had also been revealed.
