"Come for my funeral tomorrow!" -- Facebook message left by Chaminda who committed suicide

A young cook of a hotel who was involved in a romance with a medical student had become distressed over a misunderstanding between the two had committed suicide by jumping in front of a moving train. This incident was reported
from Polgahawela area recently.

Chaminda Thusitha Kumara the victim living in Udupitiya, Minuwangamuwa had been a graduate from the University of Kelaniya and after saying goodbye to the campus he had later studied Hotel Management. After joining a well-known chain of hotels he had been employed in the capacity of a cook. A comment left by him on his Facebook last Saturday evening at 6.08 was, "My FB friends .... from today I will be stopping from the FB. Let me wish all of you a good future!" When various readers of that Page had posed the question "why?" for that message, he had responded with about four or five comments saying, "come to my house tomorrow ... this isn't a time to tell about problems". The following day morning Chaminda who made that last comment at 5.30, it was revealed later that he had jumped in front of a moving train and had thus committed suicide.

It was reported from information received that he had got disappointed over a dialogue he has had with the said medical student and had been drunk the following day and had thus ended his life. Though it has not been revealed as to the conflict which was at the root which motivated Chaminda to put an end to his valuable life, when scrutinising his Facebook Account it was observed that he had exchanged comments such as, "It's not right to come into a decision just because of hearing a rumour" and "Keep away as quickly as possible from those who are evading". Under these circumstances it could be assumed that the closest reason for this act of suicide is an attempt made by his lover to evade him by listening to a rumour by someone.
