Vijitha Herath was not after liquor at the time of the accident in Rajagiriya, Magistrate testifies

The day before yesterday the Member of Parliament of the JVP Vijitha Herath who while driving his cab vehicle had met with an accident along the Rajagiriya road.After the accident his vehicle had dashed on to telecommunication post

damaging it.

Because of damage to public property the Rajagiriya police authorities  had produced before courts where he was asked to pay a sum of rupees one thousand five hundred as damages caused to the telephone post and had been released.

The additional Magistrate Chandana Kalansuriya had testified that the Member of Parliament Vijitha Herath was not under the influence of liquor at that time.This was after he was subjected to a medical test.

The member of Parliament had issued a notice as there had been talks that he was under the influence of liquor at the time of the mishap.
