It is reported that a 17 year old school girl clad in her school uniform had jumped to the sea to commit suicide. But her attempt had been foiled owing to the efforts of the officers of the Dickwella police station.

The information about her jumping ti the sea had been seen by an onlooker who had promptly informed the authorities of the Dickwella police. By the time the police team arrived the 17 year old

schoolgirl had been seen about 100 meters away from the show.
