Susanthika was beaten because the illicit husband was spotted - Dhammika Nanda Kumara
It was last Saturday morning that short-distance sprinter champion Susanthika Jayasinghe warded herself at the hospital with a family dispute going too far. What she had told in hospital was that the husband with whom she had kept a distance for some time had come on the day of the incident and had assaulted her with a shovel and not being able to get away from him she had finally jumped over a wall in midnight that day and although had sprinted several
miles she had now admitted her to hospital after informing police.
As a result of this complaint her husband Dhammika Nanda Kumara was arrested by the police but was released the next day itself by courts also into consideration the contradictory statement he had mentioned he had made in this connection. What he says is that on the day of night of the incident Susanthika was sleeping with an illicit husband. Though it was a piece of news which brings disgrace upon Olympic sprinter champion Mrs. Susanthika Jayasinghe, Dhammika exposed that story with evidence behind his back.
Susanthika has left her two children in her house in Victoria in Colombo 8 all alone and her intentions of coming all alone herself to spend the whole night in this new house in South Embaraluwa in Weliveriya which is in the process of being completed in fact leaves a question mark. Susanthika says that she is still not in possession of a vehicle but on that night when she was in that house there had been a small white-coloured car parked in front of the house. At the moment of losing his temper saying that it was the paramour's vehicle Dhammika had smashed up that vehicle. What he says is that at the time he went to that house, the paramour had fled by jumping over the wall behind the house. He further says that fearing an assault Susanthika too had jumped over the wall in front and that she sustained injuries because of that. Dhammika who says that he managed to find the paramour's bag of clothes, the identity card and the driving license has produced these items in courts and had said that she had tried to lead the courts astray by acting a role display.
After considering this evidence the Gampaha Acting Lady Magistrate had ordered that Dhammika be released on two personal bonds of Rs. one lakh each. After being bailed out what Dhammika told the media was that even on a previous occasion she was caught with a paramour and that issue was solved with the mediation of the Samatha Mandalaya.
Susanthika and Dhammika have two children aged 7 years and 2 and a half years and they are with Susanthika in her house in Colombo 8. Her husband has separated from her for some time and is living in her house in Bandaragama. What Susanthika told while in hospital was that various allegations could be aimed at her regarding this incident but whatever it is she would be asking from a divorce from him.
