Medical officers, Nurses are among 25 affected by dengue at the Kalubowila teaching hospital.
It is reported that about 25 members of the staff at the Kalubowila Teaching hospital have acquired fever diagnosed as dengue. This news was revealed by a
hospital spokesman on the 23rd instant.
In this group it is reported that doctors, nurses and attendants and minor staff are included. These figures are reported during the months of May and June.
The reason for acquiring dengue has been attributed to the fact the hospital premises have not been cleaned and disinfected properly during this period due to lack of labour staff and as a result it had helped in the breeding of dengue mosquitoes in the hospital premises the spokesperson for the hospital had added.
The number reported above may be even higher. The requests made to the ministry of health authorities to have a proper cleaning system had not been fulfilled the spokesperson had added further.
