Kosgama danger zone now restricted to a 500 metre radius
It is now reported that the danger zone around the Kosgama Salawa army camp had now been restricted to a 500 metre radius distance from the location of the camp.
This danger zone has now been reduced drastically after the clearing operations made to areas beyond the distance of 500 metres radius. This decision had been made by the officials of the ministry of
defense and revealed at a media briefing held on the 06th instant.
Up to yesterday the 06th instant the danger zone was declared as within a radius of one kilometre distance. The area of the 500 metre distance radius has been made as a danger zone as there are still debris from the exploded fire arms to be cleared. The people have been prohibited in entering into this area.
It is also reported that many people who had lived within one kilometre radius of the army camp have not yet returned to their dwelling houses although the area had been declared as a safe zone.
