Female who was struck by vehicle in which MP Shriyani travelled, embraces death on crossing itself!

The female aged 64 years who was struck by the vehicle at the yellow crossing in which vehicle Amparai District MP Mrs. Shriyani Wijewickrema travelled embraced death last 17th. The victim concerned had been crossing the road in front of the courts situated in the middle of Amparai Town at the yellow crossing on

which occasion she had been struck by the vehicle in which the MP was travelling.

The deceased is one 64 year old female by the name of Babynona living in Gemunupura, Amparai. About 3 months prior to this her husband too had died as a result of an attack by an elephant. Anyway after the said accident the driver who was at the steering wheel of the MPs vehicle was taken into police custody and was later remanded. Investigations are underway under the directions of Amparai Headquarters Chief Inspector of Police Mr. A. Ilangakoon.
