1,180 million to buy vehicles for Ministers
By now a supplementary estimate has been presented to parliament at a value of over Rs. 118 million crores for the purpose of purchasing vehicles for distinguished Ministers, State
Ministers and Deputy Ministers of Sri Lanka all totalling to thirty.
According to this document, it is a special feature to note that some Ministers have even requested for two vehicles. The prices of vehicles requested by each Minister is as follows:
Two vehicles for Minister of Petroleum Chandima Weerakkody and Deputy Minister Ms. Anoma Gamage -- Rs. 7 crores
Two vehicles for Minister of Local Affairs Mr. Vajira Abeywardena and one vehicle for Nimal Lansa -- Rs. 9 crores, 80 lakhs
One vehicle for Minister of Telecommunication and Digital Infra-structure Facilities Mr. Harin Fernando and two vehicles to Deputy Minister Mr. Tharanath Basnayaka -- Rs. 9 crores 10 lakhs
Two vehicles for Minister of Skills Development Mr. Mahinda Samarasingha -- Rs. 5 crores
