As a result of the Kelani River overflowing, low-lying lands around it have submerged and water has spread even to areas which had never experienced floods and already a large crowd of people have faced inconvenience because of it. How a luxury two-storeyed

house which was submerged by water in this manner too was published by us yesterday through photographs. The photo displayed how some people spent their time on tyres, on top of walls and top floors until the water would subside. A group of neighbours had managed to get hold of a boat which could be blown up and could be made use of and have been starting to enjoy themselves by travelling round the house in this boat. Shown below are some photographs of it.
