For residents affected by landslides to be offered alternate lands

Under the instructions of the President Maithripala Sirisena the State Minister of Lands TB.Ekanayake has been advised to find alternate lands for those affected by landslides in areas not subjected to landslides under a new programme.

In this connection under this new programme the  officials of the Ministry of Land,the Land development commission and the Land commissioner General's department are to work jointly to find lands for those affected by landslides and those living in vulnerable areas.

Those residents in Kegalle, Nuwara Eliya, Kandy Ratnapura ,Kalutara, Gampaha and Colombo districts would be given preference over others.

They have already found land in areas where no development activities arr taking place to offer to those affected people by landslides.
