Deaths and disappearances owing to landslides and floods  stands at 201, damage to Colombo Rs B 25000/-

he death toll after the recent calamity from the landslides and flood have been accounted as 201. There have been 94 deaths officially  reported while there had been 107 disappearances reported.

According to estimates of the damages it is reported that it is around Rupees Billion 35000/- According to the estimates for repairs a sum of Rupees billion 15000-25000 would be required the Minister of Finance Ravi Karunanayake.

The money for the reconstructing  the damaged roads, infrastructure and houses would be set aside  through the national insurance fund it is learned.
