A road in India to be named " Maithripala Sirisena"
President Maithripala Sirisena who visited the United Kingdom to participate in the inaugural Anti Corruption summit had visited India on the Invitation of the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Singh Modi and had returned to Sri Lanka yesterday after a two day stay in India.
During his short stay he had been invited to participate in the opening ceremony in Sanchi Viharaya where a statue of Anaragarika Dharmapala was declared open.At this the Chief Minister of Madyapradesh Shivaraj Singh had said as a mark of huge respect the road in front of the Sanchi university and gardens to be named as Maithripala Sirisena road.
Accordingly among the other names of the streets the name of Maithripala Sirisena also would be added was conveyed by Ven.Banagala Upatissa thera the President of the Maha Bodhi Society.
