Yowunpura 'Prince' mistakenly  awarded the price of the third place contestant

Yesterday evening the President, Prime Minister ,Chairman /Director General of the National Youth Services Council and other officials had participated as the chief guests at the prize giving

of the contest where the Yovunpura Prince was elected in Sigiriya.

The announcer had  announced the names of the third, second and the Yovunpura Prince when the last five contestants came  on stage.The space on the stage had been very small.All the activities of the contest electing the Yovun Prince had taken place in a very haphazard manner.So had been the arrangements made at the prize distribution ceremony which was telecast 'live'.

After the names were announced the winner, the Yovun Prince had hurriedly gone to collect the award.The Chairman/Director General of the NYSC, DG Eranga Welianga had awarded the price intended to the second runner up ( third) to the winner.

In a short while the winner ,Yovun Prince  GP Niroshana had observed that his trophy was incorrect.There had been a chaos situation on the stage for this absurd blunder.All the chaotic errors were rectified on stage by exchanging the awards presented which were also shown live on television to the amusement of onlookers and the television audience.

In front of the President, Prime Minister and Ministers the youngster crowned as the Yovun Prince had been embarrassed.
