Work in the Central highway to commence in May

The Minister of Highways and Higher Education Lakshman Kiriella had said that the work in the Colombo Kandy Expressway is to commence

from Colombo and from Kandy in the month of May.

The Minister had added that very often people in Kandy asks him when the work in the Colombo Kandy Express way would begin.The work has already commenced from Colombo.From the month of May the work from Kandy is also due to begin.

He also had said that the work in the Ruwanpura express highway and the Jaffna express highway also would begin.This was disclosed attending to a ceremony in Mawanella.Speaking at this meeting the Minister Lakshman Kiriella had accused former president Mahinda Rajapaksa saying that he did work only for the south.

Stressing on Mahinda Rajapaksa's era he categorically stated that express highways, Airport and Harbour were erected only in the south.But during that era nothing was done to the central region.
