Was Kotadeniyawa 17 year old schoolboy arrested by police ...

once again to take revenge by making false allegation?

17 year old schoolboy Suranjan Sudeep Seneviratna of Badalgama, Akarangaha was taken into custody on suspicion by police during the initial stages in connection with the murder of the small girl  Kotadeniyawa, Seya Sandewmi which
incident created a sensation during the past. However, though he was later released, he was yesterday arrested by police after some months after the said incident and this time for keeping illegal drugs in his possession.

On the occasion when a team of Divulapitiya Police arrested this youth and 3 of his friends at which moment of arrest this particular schoolboy has had 17 milligrams of heroin in his possession, police say. The four of them were produced before Minuwangoda Magistrate and were subsequently released on a bail of one lakh.  After being released on bail, the boy expressing his comments to the media had said that he had no such illegal drugs in his possession and that when he happened to visit a friend of his, the police had instantly jumped on him and then all of them were taken into custody.

Whatever it is, it was with some reservation that he expressed those comments to the media, rejecting those allegations. Though his mother too made her comments in this respect, she also appeared to be making those comments not with much knowledge. If at all if this student was emphasising such a matter, the suspicion emerges as to whether a false allegation has been aimed at him for the purpose of taking revenge for the reason that he was taken into custody by mistake over the Kotadeniyawa incident and being branded across the media as a student with a low-grade behaviour, indulging in watching obscene video films and because he is someone who had demanded a sum of one crore from the police and had filed a case across Human Rights on the contempt he had suffered. Further enquiries regarding the student's heroin-involvement is expected to be heard on forthcoming 15th.
