YouTube is for adults -- Nadeesha Hemamali

Who said to watch my video in the company of children?

YouTube is for children over 18 -- Nadeesha Hemamali

YouTube is for adults -- Nadeesha Hemamali

A music video depicting Nadeesha Hemamali involved in a kissing scene sometime back in the internet which became the topic of interest happened to create a sensation. Though there was no dialogue about the song there or the creation of it as such, after most viewers watched the video of 'Nadeesha's kiss' as seeing
it as a scene from a blue film across the YouTube, creators have now come to stage saying that there are Hits in it and thus boasting that the song in it has created a revolution in the history of Sri Lankan Music Videos.

Sometime back when Nadeesha happened to participate at the Neth FM Unlimited programme and was talking about it, a female listener who connected herself across the telephone in the programme spoke by deploring Nadeesha's acting. What she said was that Nadeesha's acting in that song could just could not be enjoyed being watched in the company of her children.

On that occasion Nadeesha was not in favour of her comment. What Nadeesha said was that since YouTube is meant for those above 18, it is the duty of parents to keep children away from it. The dialogue comments that were heard on that occasion, from below:

Listener: I deplore this. I of course don't have any favourable understanding about Nadeesha's acting. There's no question about the song .... there's no issue about the music either. This is not something that could be viewed in the company of a child.

Nadeesha: This is not something that's shown over Rupavahini. It's YouTube. Then you have a responsibility to impose a censorship on your children when showing something like YouTube. That ... as parents you'll should be considerate about that. It's not something done for small children. Social websites are specially meant for those above 18 years to make use of. We have imposed a censorship like that. According to the Law of Sri Lanka it's possible to broadcast anything there. You lady ... must be considerate. Don't show things like that to children.

Listener: I of course can't watch what's in this video. Those what you say can't occur in a complaisant way .... from this video ... you understand? How can a child keep watching in the presence of a mother when engaged in this 'nadagama' which you are talking of?

Nadeesha: Watch it by yourself alone. We have made a separate version to watch in the company of children. We have given it to the Rupavahini media as as a separate version with edited scenes and musically involved scenes. So watch that with the children. This is meant to be shown only to those above 18.
