Pair of toilet slippers and pots discovered from ....
Peacock sand-pool which ASP said to dig and see if Mahinda's gold could be found
Businessman ASP Liyanage who held a media discussion recently requesting for an investigation about the rumour that Mahinda's gold could be found in the sand-filled swimming pool at Peacock Mansion belonging to him has also said that he is unable to go to sleep until that investigation is carried out. This story
which he himself says as having been published in an article of a newspaper though did not attract a big popularity as such, because of his compulsion itself an investigation was launched by the police and bacho machines were brought with much expenses incurred and about 30 cubes of sand was removed, searching as to what was there, yesterday.
Though A.S.P. Liyanage had complained to the IGP regarding the rumour that former President Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa's gold and money was hidden inside the sand, what really was found in the search there was not gold or money but a pair of slippers used in the toilet and some pots brought down for the protection of the house buried there in the sand.
Thus public funds utilised for the labourers and the machines by the police to remove this heap of sand actually has gone astray. Whatever it is, Mr. Liyanage who was in this manner absolved from all accusations enjoyed a satisfying sleep last night!
