Number of top seats in government to transform

The top government positions like the positions as permanent secretaries of ministries are to be changed.In the connection the Ministers of some ministries have brought to the knowledge of the President about changes that they need perhaps owing to the inefficiency of the related permanent secretaries of some ministries. In this regard there is a possibility that several changes are to be envisaged from the beginning of next year .

Accordingly the positions of 04 permanent secretaries of ministries would be filled with new secretaries.It is also reported that there are  03 efficient persons who serve as additional secretaries of ministries.

It is reported from reliable government sources that they would be appointed as new secretaries of ministries where the services of permanent secretaries are not up to the required standard. It is also reported that the head chairs of a number of government institutions are also to be changed and in this respect Prime Minister Ranil Wicremasinghe is studying the personnel already in top posts to be changed and substituted where necessary. In this regard the Prime Minister is exchanging views with the related ministers.
