Manner how three 7 year old students had robbed a shop
Three 7 year old under age students had been produced before the Badulla Magistrate Ruwandika Marasinghe for the offence of breaking a shop and robbing valuables valued at around rupees for thousand.The Magistrate had severely warned the three 7 year students not to indulge in such activities in future but to endeavour to study to become good citizens of the country.
The Lady Magistrate of the Badulla Magistrates courts Ruwandika Marasinghe had released the three students with the above warning in front of their parents had ordered them to be released. She had said in the event
they are caught again for such a theft would be severely punished.The three under age seven year old students had been produced along with their parents. When questioned by the lady Magistrate about the theft one student had accepted the fact they burgled the shop and robbed the goods valued at rupees four thousand and one.
The three students who were released in this manner are from Badulla Kendegolla area and each student was only seven years old.The three students had been arrested by the corruption prevention unit of the Badulla Police when they had discovered that they had climbed a tree and with the aid of a branch had got to the roof of the shop and had entered through the roof to rob the valuable items worth rupees four thousand and one.
This robbery had been made when the shop was closed.A by stander had seen this happening and informed the Badulla Police when officers of the corruption prevention unit had arrested the students after locating their whearabouts.
On the 16th instant a University Lecturer while playing casino at a club in Colombo had been assaulted by an Italian national. The police had arrested the Italian National and produced before the Fort magistrate courts.
The Chief and Additional district Magistrate of the Fort Magistrate courts Priyantha Liyanage had bailed the defendant with a deposit od rupees two lakhs and had ordered a travel ban.
The Italian National Emmanuel Liyando is the Italian National who was released on bail.The University lecturer by name is Panagodage Namal Fernando is a resident at number 80, Edirisinghe Mawatha, Nugegoda . He had been at the Kollupitiya Belargi Casino club when this incident was reported on the 16th instant.
While involved with Casino betting the two have had an argument which had ended in a clash when the University Lecturer was assaulted and subsequent to a complaint lodged at the Kollupitiya Police station the Italian National had been arrested.
