Christmas tree turned out of redundant and obsolete items in Batticaloa

A Christmas tree 42 feet in height had been opened by the officials  and members of the Municipal Council Batticaloa yesterday. The

significant feature of this Christmas tree is that it had been made out from redundant and obsolete items.

After it was lit with bulbs it had looked very conspicuous. It had been opened last night by the Mayor of the Municipal Council Batticaloa R.Udayakumar, as the chief guest at a ceremony organised for Christmas.

This function was also attended by the Education Director of the Batticaloa area K.Baskaran, the Chairman of the Self Employment Trading society  S.Selvarasa the representatives of the trading sector ,members of the staff of the Municipal council Batticaloa had participated in this event.
