A cat causes a huge commotion  by  making the alarm bell to ring in a financial institution in Kalutara North

The alarm bell in a financial institution in Kalutara North had run loudly at around 7.30 p.m on the 5th instant.The Police and the general public were of the view that thieves had got into the private

financial institution  as the alert alarm system had rung loudly, For over two and a half hours the Police had been on alert near this private financial institution by making a special operation.

It is reported that when someone touches the security safe of this private financial institution an alarm bell is sounded at the Police station in Kalutara North, according to the  security system that has been installed.

When this signal of the alarm bell was heard  at the Kalutara North Police station  a team of Police personnel  armed with weapons had cordoned the premises of this private financial institution.

When the Police personnel arrived at the scene they observed a motor cycle parked outside the private financial institution and a helmet was found abandoned in the vicinity without a owner which had prompted the Police to ascertain that the thieves may have come on this particular motor cycle and had stood by this stand for a period of over two hours.

At around 9.30 p.m the Manager of the private financial had come to the premises and had opened the door .The Police who entered the premises could not find anyone who had entered into the institution.

About the abandoned motor cycle and the helmet it had revealed that an employee of this private financial institution had left his motor cycle and had gone  somewhere. The Police had believed and suspected that a rat or a cat may have run over the safe causing the alarm bell to  get activated.

The investigations had been carried out led by the Sub Inspector of Police Ananda Silva of the Kautara North police station and his team.
