The 2nd and final T/20 fixture between the touring West Indies and Sri Lanka was scheduled to be played at the R.Premadasa International cricket stadium on Thursday the 12th instant .As the funeral with state honours has been arranged for Thursday the 12th and as the day had been declared as a day
of mourning this change of date has been announced by the Sri Lanka Cricket.The date has been advanced to Wednesday the 11th and would be played at the same venue, the R.Premadasa International cricket stadium.
The Sri Lanka Cricket authorities had taken this decision as Thursday has been declared by the government as a day of public mourning.The authorities of the Sri Lanka Cricket has announced that tickets that had been bought for the 12th instant would be valid for the 11th instant.
This change has been agreed between the Minister of sports, Dayasiri Jayasekara,the chairman of the Interim Committee of the Sri lanka Cricket Sidath Wettimuny and the members of the board with the members of the board of the West Indies. It has also been agreed that all players should observe one minute silence before the play begins and for all Sri Lanka players to wear yellow bands on the shoulder as a mark of respect for the dead prelate.
