"During Appachchi's time we waited ....
as if the deaf had drunk a decoction"
- Minister Vijith Wijithamuni
What Minister of Irrigation and Water Management Vijith Wijithamuni Soysa said yesterday (27) at a press meeting was that he and all others who represented the Cabinet during Mahinda Rajapaksa's time behaved as deaf persons who were after drinking a decoction ('kasaaya'). The Minister who expressed his opinion in this context said, "Today a decentralised democracy is in operation in our Party. There was a time in our Party when we acted as deaf people had drunk a decoction. Since that period has now changed, the leader of the Party has given freedom to take whatever decision one wants. As such, MPs of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party are at liberty to express whatever opinion in relation to the Budget".
