Veteran translator Gamachchi passes away
Popular author,scholar and translator Leelananda Gamachchi has passed away yesterday.
Leelananda Gamachchi after serving in very high official in the educational field had become an author after his retirement. He had written over 115 novels that were published and initially he had translated the for the benefit of school children "Hari Puduma Iskole","Punchi Weeraya" and " Tharuna Weeraya".These had made the tendency for young children to commence and enhance reading habits.
At the time of his demise he had been 79 years old and his funeral is to be held on the 18th instant at Eldeniya.
