How assailants came with faces covered with black cloth ....
with sacks on their bodies to murder Wasantha Zoysa (CCTV)
The CCTV video of the attack on a night club in Anuradhapura last night has now been released. As a result of this incident, Mr. Wasantha Zoysa
who created a Guinness Record passed away.
It is clearly seen from the said video that all the assailants who came with faces covered with black cloth and clad in polythene sacks over their clothes had long clubs in their hands. Whatever it is, though they would have had sharp instruments such as swords in their hands, it is not observed clearly in the video. It could be clearly understood from the video that they had arrived at the night club for this purpose of an attack, well-planned. The assailants who had come in this manner had engaged in creating damage to external property of the night club and had on one occasion thrown petrol bombs to the vestibule and on another occasion towards the interior of the night club, it could be observed. As a response to the arrival of the assailants two or three who were inside had attempted to come out and it is seen how they were assaulted and chased away by the intruders.
In the process, only three of the attackers who came for this assault are seen entering the night club with clubs in their hands and it could be assumed that Wasantha may have been attacked on that occasion. Subsequent to this attack some of the attackers had made their getaway on motor cycles and though it can be noted from the second CCTV camera, it is difficult to identify the numbers on the number-plates. After the incident, Mr. Wasantha Zoysa's son had arrived at the scene and taken the father in a vehicle to the hospital. It was later reported that Wasantha who was lying bleeding profusely from his head had already passed away by that time. On an investigation conducted by the police early this morning they were able to recover the sacks used by the suspected attackers to cover their bodies thrown close to a government office. The postmortem of the deceased has been conducted by now. No one has been taken into custody so far regarding the incident.
