A 17 year old girl consents to marry her Uncle after she concieves

A 17 year old girl who has had an affair with her  mothers elder sisters 50 year old husband had been admitted to the Nawalapitiya hospital to obtain pregnancy tests.

This  seventeen year old girl had been brought up over the years at her mother's elder sisters ( Loku Amma) home in Ginigathhena, Kalaweldeniya area.After the death of the "Loku Amma" the uncle had lived with this growing girl for some time and developed intimate relations. They had developed to love each other. Owing to a complaint received at the Ginigathhena Police station in regard to their intimate behaviour.

When this matter was investigated the uncle had said that he intends to marry the seventeen year old niece.The young girl had also consented to marry her Loku Thaththa".As there is provision to have the marriage registered the seventeen year old girl had been sent to be under probation to the child and probation care. She had been admitted to hospital as the baby to be born and the mother had been not in good health.

What the young girl had said was her age is no barrier for marriage and when she attains maturity to marry legally she will marry the "Loku Thaththa".
