An A/L student and 3 others arrested ....

under suspicion of Seya's murder

According to latest reports in connection with the murder of Seya Sandewmini of Gampaha, Kotadeniyawa it is said that a student of an Advanced Level Class in the neighbouring house and

three of his colleagues have been taken into police custody.

Preliminary investigations conducted by provincial police units as well as Gampaha have recorded statements of about 25 persons in relation to the incident. It was a special feature to notice that after these statements were forwarded to the CID these four were accosted by the police and subjected to interrogation.

This 17 year old youth who was supposed to have been frequenting this particular house on and off is supposed to be a student who had been studying in the Advanced Level Class of a leading school, in the Commerce stream. Whatever it is, information has been received that this boy has been considered as a notorious character in the area and is supposed to be moving about in gangs and also indulging in vice in the nights. It has been revealed at police investigations that he has been seriously addicted to marijuana too. 

The police are suspicious as to whether he had been involved in this crime by getting together with three others on the night of the incident concerned and it is reported that the said three persons too have been taken into custody and are being interrogated in this connection. The police also said that according to information already secured it would be possible to expose the identity of the person who is responsible for the crime.
