Child's murder a case of serious sexual assault and strangling!

     Killer not apprehended so far

              Suspicion over family who left the village

It has been revealed at the autopsy that the death of the child Seya Sadewmi who was inhumanely put to death in Gampaha Kotadeniyawa area had been subjected to serious sexual molestation. It was revealed at the postmortem conducted under the supervision of the Judicial Medical Officer of

Negombo District Hospital that evidence has been uncovered that after the child was subjected to sexual assault she has been strangled to death with a strip of cloth, it was reported.

Police have still not been able to get at the culprits who had engaged in this beastly crime. The Police Spokesman said that several police teams have been deployed to arrest the criminals who are connected to this heinous crime, as soon as possible.

If at all there was someone who thought of murdering Seya Sadewmi Bakmeedeniya, this innocent pre-school student, it is not clear as for what motive it was committed. What the father and mother of the child said when she had disappeared was that as far as they knew they have no enemies as such. Whatever it is, suspicions of the police have been aroused over those whom the child's father had associated with and about those who had a keen knowledge about the positioning of the house itself. The police are going ahead with further investigations by extracting more and more details about them.

In the meantime villagers in the area have developed a suspicion about a family who have left the village of Kotadeniyawa after this crime and an inquiry has been launched to ascertain whether there is a connection between that family leaving the village and this incident of murder.
