TWO ARMY CHIEFS OF NORTH-CENTRAL TO BE INTERROGATED FOR BEING RESPONSIBLE FOR PRAGEETH EKNELIGODA'S DISAPPEARANCE
UNOFFICIAL INFORMATION THAT HE WAS KILLED IN GIRITHALE AND DUMPED IN SEA
Investigations regarding the missing media-person Prageeth Ekneligoda which created a great uproar in the past have now once again been brought to life these days after a period of 5 long years.
Two officers of the army Intelligence Service have been taken into custody by the Criminal Investigation officers last 7th during investigation activities over the disappearance of E-news news reporter who was missing from Rajagiriya since January in the year 2010. What information which has still not been revealed officially is that these two officers were from the Tamil Intelligence Unit and that they are responsible for the abduction of Prageeth. The information available says that the two of them had taken Prageeth by force and had handed him over to Girithale Army Camp and on the knowledge of chief officers there, he had later been murdered. So far news of an unofficial nature has revealed that he had been made to drown somewhere in the Eastern sea after murdering him and thus left to be destroyed and that these operations have been carried out in a manner that the dead body could not be traced.
Prageeth's wife had first complained to Homagama Police about his disappearance. It was made to understand that though two investigations were launched by the Criminal Investigation officers during the past regime, those had gone under the carpet because of higher orders and these investigations have once again been resumed under the present government.
A strong public opinion has sprung up about the abduction of Prageeth Ekneligoda and for having made him disappear. According to statements given by the two Tamil Intelligence Unit officers who are presently under custody, two North-central army chiefs are to be questioned within the next few days, it is learned.
