The gunmen at Bloemendhal shooting not found yet - Police Media Spokesman
On the afternoon of the 31st instant a group of supporters of the Finance Minister and UNP's
Assistant leader Ravi Karunanayake were they were going in a house to house campaign along Bliemendhal street some unidentified gunmen had come in two vehicles and had fired haphazardly at the supporters killing one woman and injuring many others.
The Police Media Spokesman Assistant Superintendent of Police Ruwan Gunasekara had added last afternoon the 2nd instant that until then no clue on this shooting has been found. The Criminal Investigation unit with the assistance of Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police Pujith Jayasundara are conducting investigations into this shooting incident.
Last morning the team lead by Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police Pujith Jayasundara had met the Inspector General of Police and has had discussions.
It has been revealed that incorrect information are been spread by interested parties to mislead the police investigations and the public has been warned not to believe in them.
In the meantime the Police authorities have made a plea to the public to let them know of any clues that help them in the investigations.
