THAJUDEEN'S BODY TO BE EXHUMED FROM DEHIWALA CEMETERY ....

Politics too had got involved in rumours that spread in the past regarding the murder of rugger
player Wasim Thajudeen. Suspicion had arisen that former President's son Yoshitha Rajapaksa is behind this killing.

Though a special investigation was commenced after the new government came into power, much of the information about it did not come into the open regarding it for quite some time. However, much attention is being focused by the police and the media on this matter in the wake of the election. Investigating at a time when former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is at the background as the chief of directions of elections of UPFA, could prove to reflect badly as a detrimental image where politics is concerned.

Police security has been afforded to the cemetery adjoining a church down Hospital Road, Dehiwala where ruggerite Wasim Thajudeen's body was buried after he was almost tortured and what police information sources said was that Thajudeen's body is expected to be exhumed next Wednesday (5).

The incident of Thajudeen who was murdered on May 16th 2012 was put under the carpet during that regime purporting it to be a vehicular accident, it is understood. It was also reported at that time that there had been disputes between Thajudeen who was a captain of an outstanding rugger team and former President's son. Sources say that former President's son Yoshitha Rajapaksa is to be interrogated in the near future.
