Kumar Sangakkara the distinguished cricketer born in Sri Lanka bade farewell to international cricket and on that occasion his mother, father and two elder sisters were present at P. Sara Stadium

to greet him. It is in the following manner that they expressed their opinion about Kumar Sangakkara.

Mother

He's someone who appreciates love. He's very close to us. Because he's the youngest he's the most cherished. He's more matured than his age. Because of that we are happy about it.  

Father

This boy reached a special status among those who played cricket. I of course took him for practices only. There's nothing else. It was with his efforts that he did most of the things.

One elder sister

Actually today I am happy ... and also sad. He has reached a very good status. He's at a high level both in cricket as well as where he's concerned as a man. What my mother and father always say is, not only cricket but to be a good person. 

The other elder sister

I am also really proud that he has come up to such a level in his life in cricket. In the same way he's still our small brother. In that sense he has not changed at all. We are so very happy .... so close. So today while the day is a very sad day ... all of us are indeed happy about his life.
