Mahinda's defeat 'an unexpected nonsense' -- Jackson Anthony

Well-known artiste Jackson Anthony too participated in the ceremony held at Ape Gama premises in Battaramulla under former President Mahinda Rajapaksa some days back on the occasion where the Alliance entered into an agreement with civil organisations.

Jackson who took pride of place during the past regime among Mahinda-supporting artistes  however displayed a silent attitude once the government changed. Jackson who appeared on the scene once again at that ceremony also happened to deliver a speech. In that instance he made these comments:

                                           "There was never a racial discrimination in the blood of civil citizens in this country. There is no mention made anywhere in history about such a thing. Racialism was sowed because of 'chanda gundu' carried out after getting universal franchise.Through that the citizens were duped by the inhabitants. It was that which was repeated last January 8th. Though the government is sent home when the masses decide so, the past government was not rejected by the people. A development that was visible was taking place within the country. Then why did the government topple? It happened because of the spiritual guerilla operation. That operation is launched by the media. This was shown by Jayantha Chandrasiri in the guerilla marketing film. What Jayantha said that day was that this would take place in future. That's what happened here. Therefore the public saw this as a great tragedy. There was never a common candidate in our culture. Such a person was necessary because a candidate opposing Mahinda Rajapaksa could not be found.   

This induction created a big suspense. It's in the same manner that Prabhakaran brought in his own concept. He also was a bait who was born as a result of 'chanda gundu'. What happened in the last Presidential Election was an unanticipated blow up. The thunderbolt of a coup comprising powers that got together burst all of a sudden. Mahinda's defeat was a massive tragedy. The people still want him".
