Door opens from National List to 6 losers ....

who supported Maithri and lost

6 juniors who were subjected to hooting and then in the end faced defeat too and subjected to

humiliation from the Mahinda faction for having supported the Maithri faction during the pre-election period have been successful in claiming entry to the parliament with the aegis of the chairman of the SLFP, Maithripala Sirisena, through the national list, it is reported.

It came to be known that the reason for their downfall was the fact that a propaganda attempt was launched in the recent past that they should not be voted for and to cast the vote only to those candidates supporting Mahinda. In order to rectify the injustice done to them, out of the 12 seats from the national list belonging to the Alliance, 6 seats have been bestowed on them and they would in time to come be finding their place in parliament. They are namely,

   * S.B. Dissanayaka
   * Piyasena Gamage
   * Wijith Wijithamuni de Soysa
   * Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena
   * Mahinda Samarasingha
   * Nandimithra Ekanayaka

All six of them had attended the meeting of the Central Executive Committee of the SLFP held under the leadership of the President.
