14,986 fake illegal ballot papers found in a boutique room in Kantale

The police has arrested a suspected person in connection of having had in possession 14,896

illegal ballot papers from the Kantale clock tower area.

The person has had kept 14986 illegal ballot papers inside a boutique room close to the clock tower.These ballot papers have been printed to somewhat similar to those ballot papers officially printed for voters in the Trincomalee district.

It is learnt that a candidate contesting for the forthcoming general election from the Trincomalee district has taken this boutique room on rent for election propaganda activities.The police is conducing investigations with the person taken in as a suspect by questioning him.
