Urgent request to members of central committee of the SLFP to meet

It is reported that an urgent request has been

made by a number of members of the Sri Lanka Freedom party urging the general secretary of the party fot the central committee to meet.

In this regard 22 of the 56 members of the central committee had signed such a request and had forwarded to the general secretary of the Sri Lanka Freedom party , Anura Priyadarshana Yapa to call for a meeting. However owing to the restraining order that was issued by the Colombo magistrate courts against a petition that was submitted such a meeting cannot be convened without the participation of the Chairman of the party, the President Maithripala Sirisena.

It is also reported that propaganda election meetings of the two factions of the SLFP are held but having differences and clashes among them.
