The POLICE OFFICER WHO ROBBED THE APPLE PHONE OF THE FORMER ELECTIONS COMMISSIONER Dayananda Dissanayake Nabbed

Anuradhapura has taken a police constable attached to Negombo police station in to custody suspecting for keeping the lost “Apple” phone worth around rupees Rs. 85,000/- owned by the former elections commissioner Dayananda Dissanayake when he had visited Anuradhapura for a religious ceremony last year.
Dayananda Dissanayake had made a complain to the D G I, North Central that his phone had been robbed by someone on the 05th July last year at the time he came to participate for “Jasmine” Pooja in Anuradhapura. As a result of the investigations done, the police constable of 23 years old attached to the Negombo Police with the phone has been taken into custody. He has stated to the police that this phone was purchased from a 3 wheeler driver in Colombo about 1 year back and that he is not known to him. The suspect is supposed to present himself to the Anuradhapura magistrate when the case filed against him would be heard.
