There was an outburst with the statement made to the media by one

of the private secretaries of the former president Chandrika Kumarathunga that she is going to contest for the general election. She has refuted that statement speaking to the media in Minuwangoda the other day.

“I am not going to contest as Mahinda is going to give nominations for the election.  It is not the truth.  I have a party.  There is a leader in that party.  There is a discipline in it.  How can my private secretary make such statements?  It is wrong for him to make such a statement” she had quipped to the media.
