It is reported that the head of the Criminal Investigation department has been suddenly transferred out from his position.

He has been transferred to function as the senior deputy inspector of police in charge of Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces.

To the position vacated the deputy inspector general of police in charge of the criminal investigations and traffic units Nandana Munasinghe has been appointed. It has been conferred that this sudden transfer had been effected to meet an urgent requirement of official duties and in this regard the permission of the elections commissioner has been obtained.
