SANATH JAYASURIYA'S MOTHER ....
ATTENDS UNP WOMEN'S COMMITTEE MEETING
Sanath Jayasuriya the former Deputy Minister was a disappointed man during the past period.
Though he had said that he would be leaving politics, an incident where his mother is to show support to the UNP now is reported.
Although Sanath Jayasuriya was known to be a supporter of the UNP, he initially stepped on to Mahinda's stages. Simultaneously he was labelled as a Mahinda-supporter and he also had to face mud-slinging. Though it was broadcast that he went into politics because he wanted to join the 2011 World Cup team, it was not possible to achieve that desire because he continuously failed. Later on Sanath became a character in politics and even was appointed to the selection committee and during the last phase of Mahinda's rule was appointed to the post of Deputy Minister,
After the government collapsed, although he announced at the start that he would be leaving politics, after a few days he managed to secure a Deputy Minister position in the Maithri regime.
He did not get nominations this time for the General Election and he had once again said that he would bid adios to politics. It was last week that cricketer Sanath Jayasuriya's mother had participated at a women's committee meeting held in Malinbada in the Akuressa Seat to give political support to the chief organiser of Deniyaya of the United National Party.
