Payments to Golden Key Depositors commence today

The issue of non payment of interest on the fixed deposits maintained at the Golden Key Company

was a subject that made a huge uproar amongst the depositors who ultimately file legal action. The Minister of Finance had met the related depositors and with related court authorities and had come to a compromise to withdraw the cases filed.It was agreed to pay a part of the deposits after a period of one month.

Today this exercise had commenced by paying those depositors who had held up to twenty Lakhs. A sum of rupees 544.3 million had been approved by the cabinet requesting the treasury to pay the depositors. The other depositors also would be paid a part of the deposits in due course.
